The alteration and refurbishment of the existing Elbec Centre on Thornbury Road in Bradford to create a new temporary teaching facility for the Eden Boys Leadership Academy. The works consisted of the strip out of the furniture and finishes from the existing building, installation of new partitions in local areas to create new teaching spaces, new toilet facilities, refurbishment of the building throughout and adaptations, alterations and new installations to the mechanical and electrical services. We also created a new ablutions facility for the academy which included supply and installation of the new Wudu units, full tiling throughout and decoration.
Alterations to the external works were carried out to create new playing areas, pupil, staff and visitor access routes, alterations to the existing fencing and additional lighting where necessary.
We carried out a complete clean of the building ready for the beginning of the new school year and were able to facilitate the teachers coming into the building early to prepare as necessary for the start of term.
“The Trust would like to thank you and your team notable Arron and Rhys for all their hard work. In 6 weeks you have transformed the old disused facilities that the DfE secured for this scheme, into the vibrant school for the 120 eager pupils and our staff. They are now, thanks to your efforts, 4 weeks into and at the start of what we hope will be an excellent learning and teaching experience for them.
We recognise the procurement and programme challenges. The balance you have shown in managing the engagement and delivery, as well as ours and DfEs stakeholder expectations has been pretty exceptional. We look forward to continuing this collaboration in the next phases. Robina too sends on her heartfelt thanks and for the flowers too.”
